“The Life Plan Review is not therapy, but a gathering of successful people with shared goals for the future, not a gripe session for unsuccessful people.”

In a blog post touching on taking action, adapted from his new book The Earned Life, the renowned leadership expert and bestselling author Marshall Goldsmith talks about how to make a Life Plan Review that is clear-cut and simple and that can become more popular than one expects. He explores how it is a plan of action for people who want to take control of their lives.

Goldsmith writes: “The Life Plan Review is not therapy. It’s a gathering of successful people with shared goals for the future, not a gripe session for unsuccessful people with problems. And by ‘successful’ I don’t mean people measured solely by their impressive status, power, and paycheck. You’re looking for people of any and every stripe who share the same optimism about getting better. They are not victims or martyrs. Do that, and you’ll always have a roomful of equals where no one is too intimidated to speak up or too self-satisfied to listen.”

Vaccinations are a touchy subject for a lot of people, though those who have been vaccinated against Covid generally resist serious illness. Scientific advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are debating whether to recommend a third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to children ages 5 to 11. The Food and Drug Administration recently authorized the booster shot for this age group. The extra dose may boost immunity to the current Omicron variants in these children. In adolescents ages 12 to 17, two doses offered little protection even against hospitalization, but a booster shot significantly improved immunity. The authorities want to make it easy to get vaccinated, which is more likely to lead to compliance and to allow people to get on with their lives without falling ill.
